Abstract | The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized National Primary Drinking Water Regulations (NPDWRs) for aircraft in September 2009. The primary purpose of the Aircraft Drinking Water Rule (ADWR) is to ensure that safe and reliable drinking water is provided to aircraft passengers and crew, while enabling air carriers to comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and the NPDWRs in a feasible manner. These provisions, once promulgated, are expected to enhance protection of public health against illnesses attributable to microbiological contamination. |
