Abstract | The decision document presents the selected remedy for Operable Unit (OU) No. 1 (Sites 21, 24, and 78) at Marine Corps Base (MCB), Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The selected remedy for OU No. 1 is the final action to be conducted at the three sites. Separate from this final action, an interim remedial action (IRA) will be implemented to contain two plumes of contaminated groundwater in the surficial aquifer at Site 78. Under the IRA, contaminated groundwater will be extracted and treated on site within one of two groundwater treatment systems. The selected final remedial action included in this ROD addresses the principal threats remaining at the operable unit by treating contaminated groundwater and soils. |
