Abstract | Toxicity tests using single species, microcosms, and communities of test species are described for laboratory evaluations of marine (estuarine and oceanic) pollution effects. The design of acute, early life-stage, life-cycle, and community toxicity tests is discussed. Uses of test data, sources of variability, species amenable to testing, and availability of standardized methods are defined. |
