Abstract | Summary biodegradation and acute toxicity information regarding cyclohexane was provided to the EPA. Cyclohexane biodegrades to cyclohexanol, cyclohexanone, 1-oxa-2-oxocycloheptant, and with ring scission gives rise to adipic acid, which is in turn ultimately degraded. Population growth tests with Uronema parduczi (a protozoan) identified an effect level (inhibition of cell multiplication) of 50 mg/L. A fish TLm (24 to 96 hours) is reported to be 40 to 100 mg/L. Protocols and supporting data are not provided. |
