Abstract | The document, a supplement to an initial report on 'Oil Availability by Sulfur Levels (PB-202 281),' presents data on imports of residual and fuel oils for the period January 1968 through December 1971. Also included are imports of distillate fuel oil for January 1970 through December 1971. Import data on these fuels were considered essential to acquiring an understanding of use distributions in the various areas and states. Presented is the quantity and sulfur content of the fuel oils. Other parameters deemed necessary were country from which the fuel oil came (source), United States port through which it came, and the carrier or company that imported the fuel oil. Analyses of such data in relation to legislature restrictions on sulfur content of fuel oils in the separate states are included. |
