Abstract |
One provision of the 1990 Clean Air Act is to regulate non-road engines if they are found to be significant contributors to urban air pollution. Of particular interest was the ability of injection timing retardation to lower oxides of nitrogen emission levels and, its effect on the carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon, emission levels. The program also studied the relationship between on-highway heavy-duty federal test procedure and eight-mode steady-state emission data on current and potential future non-road engines. Test results for five engine configurations are presented in the report. |
