Abstract | The aim was to develop, through both analytical and experimental studies, the basic design criteria and data necessary to produce a low emission combustor. This information was to be utilized in the production of two combustor designs, one for a typical low-pressure regenerative type of engine and the other for a high-pressure engine with partial recuperation. Several model combustors were produced employing various concepts to obtain low emissions, and these were evaluated as to their suitability for incorporation into a practical engine system. |
