Abstract |
The Arkansas-Red River Basins Water Quality Conservation Project was initiated by the Public Health Service to determine factors causing mineral degradation in the Arkansas and Red Rivers, the location and amount of waters of varying quality suitable for beneficial use, and methods or measures for improving overall water quality. Data evaluated by March 1, 1958 are provided in this report. Monthly and annual summaries showing average quantities in tons per day and weighted average concentrations in parts per million of chlorides, sulfates, and total dissolved solids are tabulated for each continuous sampling station. Care should be used in applying conclusions based on the data presented because of unknown factors still to be investigated. |
