Abstract |
There is a close parallelism between groundwater simulation and petroleum reservoir simulation and the two fields have exchanged techniques frequently. The current state-of-the-art for petroleum reservoir simulation is discussed from a hydrological point-of-view. It is suggested that petroleum reservoir methods are interesting to hydrologists but not clearly superior to alternatives developed by hydrologists. A selected bibliography on petroleum reservoir simulation is included. (Author) |
