Abstract
The report is one of an 11-volume series that describes the initial development of the Advanced Utility Simulation Model (AUSM), one of four stationary source emission and control cost forecasting models developed in 1984 for the National Acid Precipitation Assessment Program (NAPAP). The AUSM model projects air pollution emissions (SO2, NOx, and particulate matter), costs of electric generation, electric rate schedules, costs of emissions control, fuel consumption by type, electric generating technology construction, and generating technology utilizations for existing and new electric generating units by state. The initial versions of AUSM (Version 1.0) was delivered between November 1984 and August 1985. Further development of the AUSM model between 1985 and 1988 has resulted in the development of Versions 2.0 and 3.0. Reports describing Revisions 2.0 and 3.0 are also part of this series.
