Abstract |
The acidity of aerosol particles collected on Teflon membrane filters is analyzed by exposure to 14C labeled trimethylamine and by counting the resulting beta-ray emission. An accurate calibration is established by the use of known, laboratory generated sulfuric acid samples. For ambient aerosol samples, results from this new method compare favorably with results from a Gran titration procedure for acidity. |
