"The purpose of this paper is to review the data relevant to the assessment of the location and magnitude of maximum short-term impacts of effluents from tall stacks. The questions this investigation seeks to answer are: 1) At what distance from a tall stack is its maximum short-term impact observed? 2) What atmospheric conditions are associated with the occurrence of maximum short-term impacts? and 3) Which of various dispersion coefficients when used in standardly available models, best estimate the locations and magnitudes of expected maximum short-term impacts of effluents from tall stacks?"--Introduction. |
