Abstract |
The document is intended to assist groups interested in inventorying air emissions of various potentially toxic substances from municipal waste combustors. Its intended audience includes Federal, State and local air pollution personnel. The document presents information on the process description of the various types of municipal waste combustors and their air pollution control equipment. Emission factors are presented for each major type of municipal waste combustor for the following: acid gases including hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, and sulfur trioxide; metals including arsenics, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, mercury and nickel; and organics including chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins, dibenzofurans, polychlorinated biphenyls, formaldehyde, benzo(a)pyrene, chlorinated benzene, and chlorinated phenol. |
