Abstract |
The Secretary, Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, is directed by the Air Quality Act of 1967 to designate air quality control regions to provide a basis for the establishment and implementation of air quality standards. In addition to listing the major factors to be considered in the development of region boundaries, the Act stipulates that the designation of a region shall be preceded by a consultation with appropriate State and local authorities. The National Air Pollution Control Administration, DHEW, has conducted a study of the Washington urban area, the results of which are presented in the report. (Author) |
