Abstract |
The performance characteristics of five commercially available continuous carbon monoxide monitors were evaluated in a two part program consisting of laboratory and field phases. The laboratory phase involved testing each instrument for response characteristics, precision, noise, response times, drifts, variations due to temperature and pressure, and CO2 and H2O interferences. The field evaluation phase involved the operation of the monitors on the outlet duct of a carbon monoxide boiler at a petroleum refinery. Data generated in both phases of the program were used as the basis for recommending minimum performance specifications for continuous carbon monoxide monitors at petroleum refineries. |
