Abstract |
The National Speciality Workshop Technical Tools for Air Toxics Assessment was held on June 17-29, 1997 at EPA's Administration Auditorium Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The purpose of the workshop was to provide participant s with an opportunity to learn about a variety of technical tools that are needed for air toxics assessment and provide an opportunity for Regional, State and local agency personnel to voice their opinions and define their needs as they relate to these tools. This report describes the preparation for the workshop, provides a summary of the presentation, and outlines the recommendations received from the participants. The first day devoted half-day sessions to Elements of the OAQPS Air Toxics Program and Ambient Air Toxics Monitoring and Data Analysis. Half-day sessions on June 18 were devoted to Air Toxics Emissions Inventories and Dispersion Modeling. On June 19 sessions were devoted to Exposure Assessment, Caste Histories of Multi-Pathway Modeling, and Education and Outreach. On the final day of the workshop, June 20, two hands-on computer training sessions were provided on the use of dispersion models and emission estimation tools. |
