Abstract |
The conference was held on July 26-28, 1993, under the sponsorship of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the American Petroleum Institute, and the Oxygenated Fuels Association. A primary purpose of the conference was to provide a forum for the presentation of the results from studies that hed recently been conducted on exposure and health effects aspects of methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) and MTBE-oxygenated fuels. The conference was comprised of 7 sessions: Introduction/Welcome; Emissions and Air Quality under Winter Conditions; Human Exposures; Acute Health Effects of MTBE, Chronic Health Effects of MTBE, New Findings for other Fuels Oxygenates, and Conference Summary. After the speakers presented their studies and entertained questions from the audience, a discussant summarized the findings for that session. Reports of some of the studies presented at the conference have since been published. These and some related papers are listed in the document. |
