Abstract |
A questionnaire concerning symptoms of the respiratory organs was distributed to the children in kindergartens and nursery schools in all areas of the city to obtain entries made by their mothers. In the case of the number of colds contracted throughout the year, there is a significantly higher rate among the boys in the districts around the factories, but this trend was not observed among the girls. The fact that the incidence of measles in the medical histories of those living in the vicinity of the factories was high was striking. |
