Abstract | Cyanamide (CAS No. 420-04-2) was evaluated for carcinogenicity. The test substance was administered in the drinking water of male and female Crl:CD-1(ICR)-BR mice (60/sex/group) at dose levels of 0, 70, 200, or 600 ppm for 100 weeks (males) and 104 weeks (females). Preliminary findings reported 8 cases of benign granulosa-theca tumors of the ovary in females at the 600 ppm dose level. In the control group, 2 similar tumors were also found. Pathological findings indicated five instances of ovarian hyperplastic lesions. |
