Abstract | Extinction coefficients and mass size distributions were measured at St. Louis, MO, and at Vienna, Austria with the same instrumentation (an 11-wavelength automated telephotometer and an 8-stage low pressure cascade impactor, both designed at the University of Vienna). A comparison between the sites gave lower extinction coefficients, mean aerodynamic diameters, standard deviations and mass concentrations of the accumulation mode at the St. Louis site and a similar dependence of extinction on relative humidity. |
