Abstract |
Solid absorbent systems were developed for analysis of three gaseous ambient air pollutants. Nitrogen dioxide was sampled with small glass tubes packed with copper shot, which could be used as personal samplers, and be stored before analysis for up to 5 weeks. Reactive hydrocarbons were determined in a dual analyser as the concentration absorbed on chromium trioxide-sulfuric acid. These monitoring measurements should correlate better with photochemical reactivity than those of non-methane hydrocarbons. Permeation tubes for vinyl chloride were critically examined and successfully used to optimize the carbon tube sampling method. Time patterns of monitoring data were examined by Fourier analysis on a computer. |
