Abstract |
Accurate numerical schemes have been developed for simulation of the condensation/evaporation processes with vapor conservation for a single component aerosol. These have been incorporated in modules which allow simulation of aerosol dynamics in models for dispersion and transport. The coagulation process can be simulated by these methods with high accuracy. In coagulation simulation errors can be reduced to any desired level by choices of width and size interval. It has been shown that the method of fractional steps give excellent results with large savings in computer time. The condensation/evaporation process with vapor conservation has been simulated numerically through the use of a new Eulerian-Lagrangian numerical technique. With this technique numerical dispersion and diffusion can be reduced to any desired level. |
