Abstract | After determining the peroral toxicity of Silicone L-77 by single dose in male and female rats and finding it to be moderate to slight, the 90-day feeding studies were undertaken. The material was incorporated in the diet of Harlan-Wistar albino rats for three months to produce nominal dosage levels of 1.0, 0.5, 0.33, 0.11 and 0.00 gm./kg. The following criteria of effect were examined: mortality; appetite; liver and kidney weights; gross and micropathology; and mean body weight changes. |
