Abstract |
The report pertains to 3-amino-2-butenenitrile (synonym: beta-aminoctotonitrile) (CAS No. 1118-61-2) and is being submitted because of lethality with central nervous system signs observed in an acute oral toxicity test in rats and mice. The oral LDa is 50 mg/kg in rats and 50-100 mg/kg in mice. The material is also a strong skin irritant and its dermal LDa is 0.5-1.0 g/kg in guinea pigs. The report is being identified as a study involving other than human effects (Unit II.B.2.b of CAP Agreement). |
