Abstract | Penconazole (66246-88-6) was evaluated for developmental toxicity. Five pregnant New Zealand White rabbits per group were dosed with 0, 50, 100, 250, 500, or 1000 mg/kg/day by oral gavage on days 7-20 of gestation. All does at 500 and 1000 mg/kg/day died or were sacrificed moribund. Reduced body weight and food consumption were observed at 250 mg/kg/day. Increased resorptions, decreased number of live fetuses and decreased fetal weights were observed at 250 mg/kg/day. No external fetal malformations were observed. |
