Abstract
The EPA Traceability Protocol revision (September 1993) permits producers and users of gaseous standards and other analytical laboratories to establish traceability between commercial gaseous reference standards and Standard Reference Materials (SRMs) supplied by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The protocol consolidates the 1987 Protocol 1 for continuous emissions monitors (CEMs) and Protocol 2 for ambient air monitors into a single protocol. The protocol incorporates many advances in gas blending and dilution technology and unifies regulatory requirements of standards for acid rain and CEMs.
