The report describes the results of a research effort in which all relevant information regarding the minimization and control of hazardous combustion byproducts (Products of Incomplete Combustion, PICs) that result from operations in which hazardous waste is thermally destroyed (e.g., in incinerators, boilers and kilns) is summarized, analyzed and thoroughly described. The research was conducted cooperatively by the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) and the EPA Risk Reduction Engineering Laboratory (RREL) under Cooperative Agreement CR813938-01-1. The report covers a period from February 1989 to February 1990.
