Abstract |
The origin of the study, its purposes, and means of accomplishment are described very briefly. The studies conducted and other actions undertaken are outlined. The principal technical findings are discussed in terms of variation of pollution levels with location in the study area, meteorological parameters and time; estimates of total pollutants discharged to the atmosphere; results of the health study; and observations in the vegetation damage survey. Information is given which will be helpful in the planning and conduct of community air pollution surveys with regard to pollution measurements, pollution emission inventories, and meteorological studies. The voluntary vessel smoke control program and the results of it are described briefly. The current status of the project is mentioned. (Author) |
