Abstract |
This report summarizes testing undertaken to determine the collection efficiency of the proposed Method 13 sampling train. The efficiency of the train in the concentration range 6-118 ppm and at a sampling rate of 3/4 to 1 cfm was found to be 99+%. Laboratory analyses of samples using the SPADNS and the SIE techniques for fluoride determination showed that the SPADNS method is less precise and accurate than the specific ion electrode. It was also determined that the distillation step in the analytical procedure resulted in erratic and non-reproducible results. Analyses requiring this distillation step must be watched carefully to avoid carry over of potential interfering ions. |
