Abstract |
The report presents a synoptic climatology of inland diurnal temperature inversions with specific reference to the Salt Lake City Region. A study of local Salt Lake City inversions has been undertaken with consideration of the factors of magnitude and depth of inversion, sky cover, temperature, wind direction and velocity at the surface, at 7000 ft. and at 10,000 ft., and upper air and surface synoptic conditions. The report classifies inversion patterns of this area and tries to find any natural control which has significant influence upon the occurrence and structure of inversions. |
