Abstract |
The study involved the collection and identification of saprolegniaceous fungi in the Red Cedar and Au Sable Rivers. The most common species were studied in the laboratory and in the Red Cedar River to determine their ability to uptake and metabolize DDT. The value of these aquatic fungi as pesticide monitors was also investigated. In addition, the transfer of DDT from aquatic fungi to a ciliated protozoan was studied. |
