Abstract | A new Tedlar bag sampling system which consists of a 5-7-l bag and operates at a 50-ml/min sampling rate is proposed. The sampling system is much smaller than the traditional Tedlar bag sampling system, which consists of a 30-100-l bag and operates at 0.5 to 1 l/min. This proposed system simplifies field operation, transportation, and storage. The system was operated in the field side by side with the regular system to evaluate its performance in the sampling and analysis of carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, and butadiene. No bias was found in the new system relative to the regular system. The precision of the new system was also almost the same as that of the regular sampling system. |
