Abstract |
Pollutants arising from agricultural activities can have adverse and detrimental effects on the water quality requirements of subsequent users. The major sources and types of pollutants involved are discussed. Their effect and impact on subsequent users are considered. The need for improved management and/or treatment concepts to minimize the effects of the pollutants discharged to receiving waters is discussed. Suggestions are offered regarding agriculture's responsibility in water pollution control activities. (Author) |
