Abstract |
The US Environmental Protection Agency issued effluent guidelines and limitations for the Textile Mills Industry in September 1982. This report estimates the economic impact of pollution control costs in terms of price changes, effects on profitability, potential plant closures, unemployment, and other secondary effects. A model plant approach is used to assess these impacts for nine subcategories, which are based on size of plant and type of textile process. |
