Abstract |
The paper discusses a mathematical modeling framework to facilitate the representation of a wide range of municipal solid waste process options and their interrelationships, to characterize the major activities of each process option, to estimate the costs and environmental emissions associated with process option, and to search systematically for and identify efficient solid waste management strategies. The first section of the paper describes the problem. The second presents the mathematical model formulation, and the third provides an example to demonstrate some of the features and capabilities of the model. |
