Abstract
This report describes research on factors affecting accuracy in spark source mass spectrometry (SSMS), and the application of SSMS to water related problems. This project has also involved the development of instrumental additions to improve the operation and control of SSMS procedures, particularly with respect to making the technique more quantitative and easier to use. The application of SSMS to specific sample types is also demonstrated.
