Abstract | Subdivision U is one of a series of the Pesticide Assessment Guidelines whose purpose is to aid pesticide registrants and others in designing and carrying out field studies which measure, using personal monitoring techniques, potential dermal and respiratory exposure to pesticides when used according to widespread and commonly recognized practice. These guidelines address direct exposure encountered during any pesticide application operation and related occupational activities including weighing and mixing the concentrated chemical, loading the material into the application equipment, etc. These guidelines also include indoor testing procedures to measure post-application exposure to persons as a result of indoor use of pesticides. However, post-application exposure to workers as a result of outdoor uses is covered in Subdivision K - Reentry Guidelines. |
