The compilation of previously published papers by personnel of the Microbiological Activities, Basic and Applied Sciences Program, Cincinnati Water Research Laboratory, (Robert A. Taft Sanitary Engineering Center), brings together in one volume much of the information concerning fecal-coliform bacteria that has appeared in various scientific journals. The material is organized into seven chapters that include background; methodology; and occurrences in warm-blooded animals including man; fresh-water fish; vegetation and insects; and soil. The final section covers the intrepretation and significance of fecal-coliform bacteria in water pollution studies. (Author) |
