Abstract |
The study uses anthropological concepts and research methods to study attitudes toward education and the educational system of a central Kentucky school district with the goal of predicting the impact of a proposed multi-purpose reservoir, and of proposing options for forestalling dysfunctional social aspects of that impact. The social impact will result from the fact that a now rurally oriented region has already begun to attract urbanite residents from Kentucky's largest city, who can be expected to bring urban values concerning education, as well as other urban social values. |
