The manual (User's Guide) summarized herein presents the quality assurance plan & operations protocols for a comparative study of snow collection instruments being conducted on Mt. Evans. Primary project objectives include assessment of operational reliability, estimation of inter-instrument and temporal variability, comparison of water equivalent & matrix chemistry between the collection devices & ground measurements, and recommendation of instruments & sampling intervals for future high altitude, complex terrain monitoring. The protocols related to quality control, quality assurance, calibration, operation, maintenance, processing, analysis, and data management are described. The manual is considered to be of greatest benefit to field operators, laboratory analysts, and project managers.
