Abstract |
Concern over maintenance of water quality in distribution systems and a growing awareness of the apparent decay of America's infrastructure has motivated EPA's Drinking Water Research Division to sponsor a series of projects dealing with the repair and rehabilitation of drinking water distribution systems. The quality of a public water supply, although acceptable when it leaves the treatment plant, may deteriorate before it reaches the user. This paper analyzes the various factors that influence repair and replacement decisions in water distribution systems and the problems surrounding maintenance of water quality. |
