Abstract |
Scientists in the United States and Canada have collaborated on the Cross-Appalachian Tracer Experiment (CAPTEX '83) using the perfluorocarbon tracer to simulate the long-range transport of pollutants in the atmosphere. The experiments, conducted in September and October of 1983 in the northeastern United States and southern Ontario, yielded approximately 3000 3-6-hour surface samples and over 1600 integrated airborne samples. In addition, supplemental meteorological data were measured. This paper describes the experiments and the data. |
