Abstract |
The report describes tests performed on the Microlite 287 microwave oven leakage probe under laboratory and field simulated conditions. The probe contains a preignited mercury-neon gas which ionizes and glows in the presence of radiofrequency energy. The probe-to-probe variability and the difficulty encountered in observing the change in glow intensity seriously limit the usefulness of the probe as a measurement device. It may be useful as a device for detecting gross microwave oven leakage. (Author) |
