Abstract |
This paper discusses the implications of available information for the development of technical and regulatory control strategies for fine particulate matter. Although it has been widely assumed to be a desirable goal, results of research activities in recent years have led to questions regarding the effectiveness and desirability of an undifferentiated fine particle standard. Control of specific categories of fine particles, with continued reliance on the current TSP, may be a more effective regulatory approach. |
