Abstract |
The manual is concerned with direct laboratory procedures used in recovery and identification of intestinal parasites and related species (atrial, bladder, and lung parasites) and with the collection of satisfactory specimens. Competent laboratory work is dependent on several factors: 1) personnel trained in examining specimens and accurately identifying organisms, (2) adequate laboratory facilities, including a good microscope, and (3) satisfactory specimens. The primary purpose of this manual is to present selected methods which can be used routinely in laboratories performing parasitologic examinations and which, when performed properly, are reliable and thorough. |
