Abstract
The purpose of this Guide is to assist Tribes in developing programs to control and prevent water quality impairments that result from nonpoint sources of pollution. Nonpoint source pollution is polluted overland runoff caused by a variety of land use activities such as agriculture, timber harvesting, construction, abandoned mines, the improper use of household lawn and garden products and other activities. EPA has developed this document to give an overview of the section 319(h) grants process and assist Tribes to work with EPA Regions in meeting the basic requirements for grant eligibility. EPA intends this package to clarify the procedures for obtaining a Section 319(h) nonpoint source grant.
