Abstract |
One goal of the Tampa Bay National Estuary Program (TBNEP) is to identify and develop the plans for a data management system that meets the needs of potential users who can benefit from improved access to information that is pertinent to resource management. As part of the project the needs and goals of data users in the Tampa Bay area were investigated by means of a survey, followed by a workshop at which participants discussed how the DMS could improve on existing information resources. The recommendations resulting from the survey and workshop discussions focused on (1) developing a Central Subject Directory (CSD) to existing data, (2) standardizing data management forms and protocols used by different agencies, and (3) providing data management services for the TBNEP throughout its tenure. |
