This special report on water quality goals for the Illinois River system was prepared in response to a request from the Public Health Service. A summary of water uses is given with a selected list of the water quality parameters whose numerical values are generally indicative of the suitability of particular waters for each use. Specific recommendations are made for coliforms, dissolved oxygen, alkyl benzene sulfonate, chlorides, and total dissolved solids. A bibliography is indcluded.
