The purpose of this study was to determine the extent, seriousness, and causes of water pollution in the Pacific Northwest attributable to watercraft users; further, to determine what legislation and physical means are presently available to control this pollution; and what additional means and legislation are needed. All data were obtained from existing manuals, reports, and files; and by correspondence and personal interviews with personnel of various Federal, State, local governmental, and private agencies.
