Abstract | The paper summarizes the current information on fine pore aeration systems. Types of media, types of diffusers, piping and layout, characteristics of diffusers, clear and process water performance, operation and maintenance, diffuser fouling and economic analyses are reviewed. The paper is based on a report titled 'Interim Guidance for Aeration with Fine Pore (Fine Bubble) Diffusers' which is developed jointly by the U.S. EPA and the American Society of Civil Engineers and published in the fall of 1985. |
